the exhibition opens next week with a party on the night of wed the 7th at 6pm. we’re mostly done getting ready, just taking care of lots of little things at this point. we’ve been getting a fair amount of press which is nice, this piece (online | jpg version) was rather funny in that they just rephrased our press release and then for some strange reason paired it with a photo of sherry in a bikini that they must have had on file already … i guess they weren’t interested in me in a bikini.

the comments at the bottom are all over the place, some love the work, some call it boring and unoriginal and there is even one that says sherry isn’t pretty (maybe he would have rather seen me in a bikini).

we will have 40 photos on display, along with 7 light boxes. two of the light boxes will be 40″x15″ panoramic shots and the others will be 20″x20″ shots. i’ve had the two panoramic light boxes hanging on my wall for a few weeks and am totally in love with them, i tried to photograph them but it’s a bit hard to really capture with a digital shot.

anyway, make sure to come to the party, it should be lots of fun ….

so i’ve obviously been super lazy in terms of updating this blog lately … had lots going on tho. i started summer term at ramkamheng (taking Japanese 101 and Influences of Pali and Sanskrit on Thai) along with getting ready for the exhibition with sherry. we’ll have over 50 pieces on display, photos in three sizes (including panoramic ones) and also some really interesting light boxes.

the new issue of volume magazine (page 46) did a full page spread on the exhibition, you can click below to download the thai version … i did a rough translation below.

    colors of india
when photography can be more than a tool to record memories

actress sherry phungprasert and artist / photograper luke cassady-dorion, together with the peninsula plaza, are hosting an exhibition of photography to benefit charity. the exhibition is titled colors of india.

the idea came from a trip the two took to india to study culture and continue their studies as yoga teachers. they found themselves constantly impressed with the colors and feeling of the country, something that drove them to capture it using the holga and horizon cameras.

they both wanted to do something to benefit society and decided to share their photographs as part of an exhibition in bangkok. all proceeds with be donated to charity, the camillion house in thailand and seva which benefits programs to prevent blindness in india.
